The SouthWest Soccer Association (SWSA) is a non-profit entity. Our mission is to provide the best youth soccer program in southwest Columbus. Our collaborative management structure and single sport focus ensures that kids will learn more about the game and sportsmanship, while their parents enjoy better communication and planning.

Important Dates - Spring 2010

  • February 21, 2010 - Registration Deadline. 
  • March 21, 2010 - Mandatory Coaches Meeting
  • April 5, 2010 - Practices Begin
  • April 18, 2010 - Games Begin
  • April 18, 2010 - Picture Day (Tentative)
  • May 22, 2010 - Tournament Weekend
  • May 23, 2010 - End of Season

SWSA Soccer Programs

  • Recreational - Soccer programs for youth between the ages of 3 and 14 years old.
  • Select / Travel Programs - Select programs based upon availability.  Please send email to tross@southwestsoccer.org for additional information.
  • High School Programs - High school soccer program through partnership with CESA Soccer of Ohio.

Recreational Program Details

Program

  • SWSA offers a recreational / educational program.
  • Recreational teams practice no more than twice a week prior to the start of games and once a week during game season.
  • Recreational teams play two games a week; Tuesday OR Thursday and Sunday afternoon.
  • Practices are scheduled by team coaches.
  • All youth will be drafted to new teams each season. 
  • Players are drafted equally across each division based upon gender, experience and skill.
  • Participants register as an individual, not as a team.
  • SWSA always strives to produce well-balanced teams within each division.

Registration Cost 

  • Program Fees for U04 and U06 Divisions are $50.00.  Fee includes various program fees, including trophy.  Youth will utilize same uniform from prior season (yellow & white t-shirt, shorts and socks).
  • Program Fees for U08, U10, U12 and U14 are $60.00.  Fee includes various program fees, including trophy.  Youth will utilize same uniform from prior season (yellow & white t-shirt, shorts and socks).
  • Uniform fees for All Divisions are $30.00.  Fee includes yellow & white t-shirt, shorts and socks.

Equipment Required

  • Soccer ball is required for all practices and games. Size 3 for U4 / U6 / U8. Size 4 for U10 / U12. Size 5 for U14.
  • Shin guards are required for practices and games.
  • Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Soccer cleats do not have a stud at the tip of the shoe. This stud can be cut off if you want to use baseball or football cleats for soccer.

Location

  • All practices and games will take place at the Bolton Field Airport Soccer Complex

Notification of Team Assignment

  • Coaches will notify you by phone or email of team assignments, or you may access the on-line registration portal to see team and coach assignments.

  • If a member does not yet have a Kroger Plus card, please let them know that they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.
  • Click on Sign In/Register
  • Most participants are new online customers, so they must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the 'New Customer?' box.
  • Sign up for a Kroger Rewards Account by entering zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, agreeing to the terms and conditions
  • You will then get a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email.
  • Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
  • Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number.
  • Update or confirm your information.
  • Enter NPO number or name of organization, select organization from list and click on confirm. (84098 is NPO for SWSA)
  • To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see your organization's name on the right side of your information page.

SWSA was founded to provide a fun, rewarding athletic experience for children in the U4 through U14 age groups.  Focusing on fair play, sportsmanship, and individual personal development.  SWSA believes that the victories in soccer evolve around the rewards of personal enrichment and self-achievement with no emphasis on winning.  SWSA is a volunteer-managed group.  The Board of Directors always seeks volunteers for broad facets within the organization.
