End of Season Activities
Shoot Out Sunday
We will utilize a tie-breaker rule in the event a tournament game is tied at the conclusion of regulation play. The tie-breaker rule is provided below. At the coach’s discretion, Sunday 13-MAY-12 games in our U08, U10 and U12 Divisions will end in a Shoot Out to allow teams an opportunity to experience this tie-breaker rule prior to Tournament Games. Each team should allow all players an opportunity to take a penalty kick. Coaches are welcome to rotate players at goal during this training opportunity.
Tournament Tie-Breaker Rule
A 10 minute period extension will be utilized in the event of a tie at the conclusion of the game. The 10 minute extension will be played in two 5 minute sessions with team switching sides and taking a 2 minute rest / drink break. If still tied after the two (2) five minute periods, then it goes to Penalty Kick's. First round of PK’s requires 5 players from each side alternating. If still tied, then three new players step up to kick. If still tied, then it goes into Sudden Death until 1 team gets ahead of the other at the conclusion of each consecutive round of PK’s.
Tournaments
Tournament play starts with the first round of play on Monday and Wednesday. Jersey color is determined by bracket assignments. Parents should bring both Yellow and White shirts to the games as teams will progress through the tournament and be required to wear different colored jerseys during the duration of the tournament.
Tournament Playing Time
Teams are expected to have equal playing time for all players during each game of the tournament. Goalie playing time remains consistent with regular season rules (U08 is 25%, U10 is 50% and U12 is 75%).
Trophy Day - Saturday 19-MAY-12 for U08, U10 and U12 Division
Teams will receive their Regular Season Trophy at the conclusion of their final game on Saturday. Coaches should report to the equipment trailer to retrieve trophies at the conclusion of games.
