Fall 2009 Registration

Registration for the Fall 2009 session is now open and available to start registering players.  This session is online only registration.  Please click on the Fall 2009 Online registration tab on the left to begin registration.  If you dont have a credit card or a checking account please send us an email or put a call into the hotline for instructions on haw to pay with cash.  COACHES will also need to register with the system to be placed as a coach.

  • Click on the Kroger Logo above
  • Be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy and register your card with your organization after you sign up.
  • If a member does not yet have a Kroger Plus card, please let them know that they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger.
  • Click on Sign In/Register
  • Most participants are new online customers, so they must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the 'New Customer?' box.
  • Sign up for a Kroger Rewards Account by entering zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, agreeing to the terms and conditions
  • You will then get a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email.
  • Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step.
  • Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number.
  • Update or confirm your information.
  • Enter NPO number or name of organization, select organization from list and click on confirm. (84098 is NPO for SWSA)
  • To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see your organization's name on the right side of your information page.

About Southwest Soccer Association (SWSA)

SWSA was founded to provide a fun, rewarding athletic experience for children in the U4 through U14 age groups.  Focusing on fair play, sportsmanship, and individual personal development.  SWSA believes that the victories in soccer evolve around the rewards of personal enrichment and self-achievement with no emphasis on winning.  SWSA is a volunteer-managed group.  The Board of Directors always seeks volunteers for broad facets within the organization. 

Format

         SWSA offers a recreational / educational program.

         Recreational teams practice no more than twice a week prior to the start of games and once a week during game season.

         Recreational teams play two games a week; Tuesday OR Thursday and Sunday afternoon.

         Practices are scheduled by team coaches.

         All youth will be drafted to new teams each season. 

         Players are drafted equally across each division based upon gender, experience and skill.

         Participants register as an individual, not as a team.

         SWSA always strives to produce well-balanced teams within each division.

         Program Fees

o    Registration fees are $50.00.  Registration fee includes various program fees, including trophy.  Youth will utilize same uniform from prior season (yellow & white t-shirt, shorts and socks).  

         Uniform Fees (additional fee if required)

o    Uniform fees are $30.00.  Uniform includes (yellow & white t-shirt, shorts and socks).

Recreational Schedule

         Registration Deadline is July 31, 2009

         Mandatory Coaches Meeting on August 16, 2009

         Practices begin August 31, 2009

         Games begin September 13, 2009

         Picture day (tentative) on September 13, 2009

         Tournament (U-8 and up) begins October 17, 2009

         Season ends October 18, 2009

Equipment

         Soccer ball is required for all practices and games. Size 3 for U4 / U6 / U8. Size 4 for U10 / U12. Size 5 for U14.

         Shin guards are not provided. Shin guards are required for practices and games.

         Soccer cleats are recommended but not required. Soccer cleats do not have a stud at the tip of the shoe. This stud can be cut off if you want to use baseball or football cleats for soccer.

SWSA Program Changes
SWSA would like to announce the following changes to our program that have been adopted by the Board of Directors effective immediately.

   1.   Age groups have been modified.  Registration is available for all youth between the ages of 3 and 14 as defined on August 1, 2008.
   2.   Parent / Guardian must provide Birth Certificate if requested by member of the Board.
   3.   Playing time will be equal for all participants in all divisions, however, no participant shall have more than 75% playing time.
   4.   Parent sidelines will be marked to allow for adequate playing space around the sidelines.
   5.   A full draft will be conducted each season (Fall and Spring) for all participants and team assignments.
   6.   U04 and U06 divisions will not rotate field direction during the game.  U08 and higher will rotate field direction at half time of the game.
   7.   Board member will meet with parents from each team during the first week of practice to review policies and expectations.
   8.   All teams will be assigned a 75 minute shift in the concession trailer.  The concession trailer will be closed if assigned volunteers are not present.
   9.  Program fees increased $10.00 per youth to a total of $50.00 as a result of additional fees outlined in the budget.  Budget is available for viewing by visiting the Board section of the site.
  10.  Concession will be closed if assigned team parents are not present.


SWSA is looking for Volunteers
Are you able to assist the association by coaching, being a referee, performing field maintenance, administrative tasks or field set-up / tear-down?  The organization is managed by parent volunteers like you.  Please send email to info@southwestsoccer.org if you are willing to assist.
 
 
SWSA Referee License
SWSA has space open for any one interested in obtaining a referee's licence.  Space is limited so all interested parties please contact Bill Rains at tross@southwestsoccer.org


Weather Cancellations:
SWSA will adhere to weather guidelines as defined by Ohio South Youth Soccer Association. Soccer is played in a variety of weather conditions. Parents are encouraged to dress youth appropriately based upon current weather conditions. SWSA will make every effort to update our hotline, web site and contact coaches regarding any decisions to cancel games due to inclement weather. Coaches are responsible for making individual decisions regarding cancellation of practices. Parents are encouraged to check the web site or contact the hotline to obtain the most recent decisions regarding field conditions and game cancellation.
